The secret

"Flamme des Anges" invites you to rediscover the aroma and the inimitable beauty of Brulot Charentais, this coffee "flambed" with Cognac, arising out of a tradition born in the Charentes over 3 centuries ago.

You will be amazed at the simplicity of the recipe.

illustration de proportions1. Place 2 sugar lumps in the saucer around the cup.

2. Fill the cup with cold coffee to two centimetres below the rim.

3. Prepare 2 centilitres of "Flamme des Anges" Cognac in the measuring vessel provided and then pour into the saucer.

4. Now prepare a half-centilitre of Cognac "Flamme des Anges" in the measuring vessel provided and pour it slowly over the back of a tea spoon onto the coffee. This ancient practice ensures the "Flamme des Anges" stays on the surface of the coffee.

5. Light one of the sugar cubes with a match; the Cognac will slowly light, in the saucer first of all followed by the surface of the coffee.

6. When the flame goes out, and as soon as the cup is no longer too hot to touch, place it on the coaster provided and empty the contents of the saucer into the cup

7. Your Brulot Charentais is now ready to taste! You can add a little milk or cream according to taste.
