Family Version
If you are a large group, for an even more festive Brulot Charentais, use our large model, "Flamme des Anges" cup. Below is the adapted recipe for a large volume:
- Pre-heat the large cup with very hot water
- Put 1.5 litres of cold coffee into the warm cup
- Place 30 sugar lumps in the saucer, then pour over 35 cl Cognac "Flamme des Anges"
- Pour 10 cl of "Flamme des Anges" Cognac onto the coffee (pour over a spoon to float Cognac on top of coffee)
Light the sugar and stir from time to time to keep alight- Allow to burn for 3 to 4 minutes, then using a spoon take some of the burning Cognac and sugar mixture and add to the cup. The coffee will alight.
- When the fire extinguishes naturally after about 20 minutes and as soon as the cup is no longer too hot to touch, pour the syrupy reduction into the cup and stir
- Your Brulot Charentais is ready! Add milk or cream if required according to taste.
