We Are
Four generations of the Roux family have been producing Cognac and Cognac-based
drinks in the Charentes region. Currently the third and fourth generation
- Jean-Claude and his son Jean-Pierre - are continuing the family tradition,
and producing superb Cognac.
Jean-Claude is 'Maître de Chai'. His job is to follow the development
of the 'eaux-de-vie' after distillation. He looks after their maturation,
decides on cask changes, if necessary, for the equal distribution of
tannins, and finally he decides on the all-important composition ('assemblage')
of the product prior to bottling. His role is critical in the ongoing
consistence of quality of each Cognac.
His son, Jean-Pierre, concentrates on selling and marketing the product
range. |
